Laminate Care & Maintenance

Keep your laminate looking and performing its very best

Let's face it...life takes a toll on our floors.

Over time, even laminate will eventually start to show the effects of traffic, stains, and spills. At Wacky's Flooring & Lighting, we want your flooring to stand the test of time. So, we're sharing some of the best practices when it comes to caring for and rejuvenating laminate.

What to do (and what not to do)

DON'T drag furniture when moving it. Lift it only!

DO place floor protectors underneath furniture. This will prevent scratching and indentations.

DON'T use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or scouring powder on your laminate.

DO spot clean (and occasionally deep clean) your laminate using manufacturer-approved products (and learn more by clicking below!)

The right tool for the job

Laminate floors are beautiful and very durable, but they are not indestructible. Floors can dulled when dirt and dust are left unchecked. This can be avoided by sweeping, dry mopping, or vacuuming regularly. We recommend a high-quality broom and a vacuum without a beater bar.

When vacuuming, use attachments to tackle dirt between planks or tiles or along edges. The occasional wet mop is also recommended; however, laminate flooring can warp if exposed to excessive moisture. Therefore, it is important to use a dry cloth after mopping.
